Italy Further Restricted by COVID-19

Posted 03/12/2020

The situation in Italy is becoming increasingly more restrained due to COVID-19. Last night the Italian Government issued another legislative decree which tightens the already restrictive measures in place. All commercial activities will have to close and only the essential services will be allowed to remain open which includes grocery stores, pharmacies, newsagencies, tobacco shops, and banking/financial service providers.

Transportation is still guaranteed and production sites are still working albeit at a very reduced pace. Additionally, President Trump has banned travel from 26 European countries to the US for 30 days beginning Friday at midnight.

The Albatrans office in Italy has reduced the presence of employees in the office in Florence and Milan but still remains fully operational. As the situation is constantly evolving, this may change during the course of the next few days.
