South Africa Gives the Green Light to Wine Transport

Posted 04/07/2020

We are excited to announce that South Africa has extended its essential products and services to include the transportation and exportation of wine once again! While specific details have yet to be confirmed, for now we know the following:

"During the lockdown period, the transportation of wines and any other fresh produce products at the sea ports and international Airports Designated as Port of Entry for export is allowed" and "Agricultural Cargo is allowed to be transported to sea ports and International Airports Designated as Ports of Entry and exported to the relevant destination."

The Albatrans South Africa office is still fully operational, and the facilities for handling wine exports will be up and running again by Thursday.

We will keep you updated on any changes to this situation, and please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
