Global Events Update - July 10th

- Hurricane Beryl – All Texas Ports are open today with normal operations. Port of Houston will be offering extended gate hours for the rest of the week.
- South Africa Storms – Winter storms continue to hit South Africa’s coasts bringing high winds, heavy rains and flooding. Several terminals have suspended shipping movement at some ports, notedly Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, due to high swells and heavy winds. Port of Durban has resumed operations, but they are not yet back to full capacity. Delays are to be expected through the weekend.
- Germany Strike – The strike over wage negotiations continues today. Operations at Hamburg and Bremerhaven have seen significant disruption with yard congestion, vessel processing and container deliveries. The backlog is likely to take days to clear.
- ILA Negotiations – Nothing to report here as the negotiations have halted for now. We will continue to watch and provide updates as negotiations resume.
