Powerful Earthquake Hits Chile

A powerful 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck off of Chile’s coast yesterday causing massive tsunami waves and leaving at least five people dead. Many people have evacuated from the affected coastal regions to avoid any further damage.

Fortunately, most of the Chilean ports were spared from heavy damage. The below list outlines the status of the ports and access to their terminals:

CORONEL: terminal in normal condition

LIRQUEN: terminal in normal condition

SAN ANTONIO: terminal in normal condition to operate.

VALPARAISO: terminal is being inspected to detect some structural damage, this new delay will produce more congestion in the terminal.

ANGAMOS: terminal without problem.
