Resolution for Montreal Strike
As we have previously reported, the Port of Montreal has been under strike action since Monday which caused all operations to cease and the port to close. However, good news is on the horizon as the Canada House of Commons passed a bill yesterday to reinstate operations at the port. The bill is expected to be approved by the Senate today and be signed into law. If all goes according to plan, the port will go back to being fully operational by Monday. For a full report on the bill, please click here.
Of course, there is still a tremendous amount of backlog from the week of closure, so please continue to plan for alternative routes and expect delays as the port works through the congestion.
As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
