Spain Strike Over at all Ports
In a positive update from Spain, yesterday the independent truckers at port of Bilbao (the last port to show strike activity) and their employers reached an agreement that finally allowed for the cancellation of all strike activity. Now currently all Spanish ports are confirmed free from strike action. However, the strike's impact is still being felt as the three weeks of stoppage has caused a massive amount of congestion and container backlog. While trucking companies are back in operation, there are a huge amount of containers to work through. So while we can say the strike is now over at all Spanish ports, it is difficult to predict when the backlog will be recovered.
While we are grateful for the positive development, please continue to plan for delays in the region while the ports and truckers work through the resulting congestion of the strike.
