Strike at San Antonio Port
The stevedores union at the port of San Antonio has called for a port strike after being unable to reach an agreement in the negotiation of the collective contracts for the port workers. The strike began yesterday and will remain indefinitely until an agreement can be reached.
Additionally, San Antonio port is closed due to strong winds and high tides in the loading and unloading zones. This, coupled with the strike action could delay vessel operations for scheduled sailings this week.
Please plan for additional lead time and potential delays for your cargo coming out of Chile. As always, we will keep you informed of this situation.
