Urgent CBMA Support - Your Voice Matters!
Last night lawmakers announced a tax plan which includes a one year extension of the CBMA. The CBMA was set to expire at the end of 2019 but will now be part of a larger deal to keep the government open through 2020. As everyone in the industry has been pushing for this extension, this is positive news for the country’s craft beer, wine and spirits producers who would have seen tax payments increase as of January 1st if the CBMA was not extended.
While this is good news, the fight is far from over. The tax plan will go before the House later today and then be reviewed by the Senate later this week. Continued support is needed to spread the word and hopefully have the President sign the legislation into law. Please continue to reach out to your local representatives and let them know that this extension is crucial to your business and the industry. We must continue to fight to bring this extension into effect, and your voice matters! Should you need an example of what to send to your representatives, please feel free to use the attached sample letter.
As always, we will keep you informed of this situation, and please contact us if you have any questions.
