Hurricane Barry Update
Hurricane Barry was downgraded from a Tropical Storm to a Tropical Depression Sunday afternoon after it dumped 20 inches of rain over Louisiana and Mississippi. Winds reached over 45mph and 70,000 people lost power due to the storm. Thankfully, no casualties were reported, but there are still flash flood warnings as the storm makes its way inland.
After ceasing terminal operations on Thursday, the Port of New Orleans is now up and running again, though still dealing with some minor flooding issues on the Mississippi River. Port conditions are normal, but shippers should be aware that some flooding still exists on the inbound/outbound roadways surrounding the port. Some minor delays may occur, but cargo is in motion, and we are working with our contacts to streamline any delays that may occur.
As always, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
