Hurricane Dorian Port Closures
Over the weekend Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas as a Category 5 storm and continues to trek up the Atlantic Coast, currently settling just off the East Coast of Florida and bringing heavy winds and rains throughout the region.
Ports along the East Coast states are issuing advisories and closing down operations as Dorian approaches. Please see the below list of port updates and closures:
Port Everglades
Closed until further notice by order of the US Coast Guard.
Port Miami
Closed to all vessel traffic until further notice. Tunnel is closed and access to all other port operations is closed.
Jacksonville Port
Closed to all commercial traffic until further notice; will re-open when cleared by the US Coast Guard.
Port of Savannah
All port operations closed Tuesday, Sept. 3rd and Wednesday, Sept. 4th. or until port is cleared to re-open.
South Carolina Ports
All terminals open and operating under normal hours Tuesday, Sept. 3rd. Due to Hurricane Dorian, marine terminals in Charleston and Georgetown will be closed Wednesday, Sept. 4th and Thursday, Sept. 5th.
Portsmouth, VA
Coast Guard has established port condition Whiskey for Virginia ports and is advising that vessels over 500 gross tons depart the port before Hurricane Dorian arrives. For now, port is open and operating as normal.
