Chile Weather Continues to Backlog Trucks
Last Friday while the US was gearing up to celebrate Independence Day, the mountain pass connecting Chile and Argentina was opened during a brief reprieve from the snow. Unfortunately, the snow has been so continuous that removal crews were unable to clean up much of the accumulation and very few trucks were able to cross the pass. Only two days later, on Sunday, the pass was closed once again due to weather. It's reported that this is the worst snow accumulation Chile has seen in fifteen years, and the season is far from over.
Please note that some delays may be expected due to these pass closures. For alternative shipping options, contact your freight forwarder about shipping from the South America East Coast ports.
