Oakland Port Closure

As strike action continues on the West Coast in protest of AB5, congestion at the ports of Oakland and Los Angeles/Long Beach continues to worsen. In the second day of protests at the Port of Oakland, SSA and several other terminals have announced gate closures for the day and night. Operations are expected to resume tomorrow; however, with protest organizers set to continue their protests through Wednesday, it is highly likely terminals will close again tomorrow as well.

Truckers have reported difficulty in-gating due to the extreme congestion and some loads have had to be placed into storage. Please plan for redelivery and storage charges that could be applied to loads in these situations. 

LA/LB, while congested, has not experienced the same work stoppage issues as Oakland and has continued operations through this conflict.
