Congestion Issues in Chile Continue
Congestion in the Southern Hemisphere continues as the mountain pass connecting Chile and Argentina remains subject to inclement weather patterns. Last Friday the pass began operating in both directions from 9am to 7pm with intermittent periods for trucks, giving priority to private vehicles and buses. However, on Saturday the pass was once again closed due to bad weather.
Today the pass was reopened during the morning; but, just minutes ago was closed again as a precaution due to the arrival of a bad weather front that will bring snowfall and low temperatures, creating treacherous conditions for transport.
For now, continue to plan on congestion and delays for cargo coming from this region. We will continue to provide regular updates as applicable.
