Chile Weather Related Delays

We have been advised by our team in Chile that the Chilean ports have been affected by abnormal swells and bad weather in the area. The severe weather conditions are in effect from July 31 – Aug 3. These weather conditions could cause possible Cut and Runs due to low productivity of the terminal or a change in the port of loading.

Vessel CMA CGM Beird has already advise the POL will change from San Antonio to Valparaiso. Additional vessels which might be impacted by the bad weather this week are below:

  • OPHELIA 43N
  • COSCO SHIPPING VOLGA 4225N
  • MSC MAPUTO NX431R

 In addition to the swells, the Cross-Andes Pass has been closed today, July 31, for all vehicles due to bad weather. Snowfall and low temperatures are expected through August 5.
