Stevedores in Spain have cancelled their remaining strike days after the Stowage Reform Law they were opposing was shot down. Now the Congress of Deputies is calling for a re-write of the law and stevedores are rejoicing. As part of the celebration, the remaining strike days - originally scheduled for the 17th, 20th, 22nd, and 24th of March - have been called off.

Due to continued negotiations, stevedores in Spain have agreed to cancel the strike days originally scheduled for March 10th, 13th, and 15th.Thus, of the nine days of strike that were originally scheduled, only four remain. The first strike will be on Friday, March 17th.



Our offices in Spain have informed us that the stevedore unions at Spanish ports have cancelled their scheduled work stoppages for the 6th and 8th of March due to found support from their main opposition parties. Since strike days are scheduled through March 24th, this is only a partial deferment of the scheduled strikes.
